SD-SAIC Eligibility

Eligibility and Age Division

• Eligibility: Middle or high school students at the time of app submission.

• Teams: Students may register as individuals or as teams of up to four members. Each student can only submit one app per year.

​

App Requirements

• Topic: Any topic is acceptable

​

• Platform: The app can be on any platform (web app, desktop/PC app, web browser extension, robot, Ruby on Rails, mobile, etc.).

​

• Programming Language: Use any programming language (C/C++, Objective C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, PHP, Swift, “block code”, etc.).

​

• Functionality: The app must have some degree of functionality to be competitive.

​

• Content Suitability: The app must not be indecent, defamatory, in bad taste, demonstrate a lack of respect for public morals or conduct, adversely affect reputations, depict hatred, defame, threaten a specific community, incite violence, contain pornography, obscenity, or sexual activity, or violate intellectual property, common law, or privacy rights.

• Originality: The app must be original and solely owned by the contestant.

​

• No Prior Projects: All submitted projects must be new ideas created after July 1st, 2024, and not participated in other hackathons or contests.
